The Statement of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Belgrade

on the martyrdom of Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah,

Honorable Secretary General of Lebanon’s Islamic resistance movement Hezbollah

in a terrorist attack by the brutal and criminal Zionist regime of Israel

 

Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah, honorable Secretary General of Lebanon’s Islamic resistance movement, Hezbollah, was assassinated on Friday, 27 September 2024, in savage attacks on residential areas in the Lebanese capital Beirut by the brutal Zionist regime, using more than 80 bombs, including bunker buster bombs, which have been gifted by the USA.

 

Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah dedicated the majority of his blessed life in the path of struggle and fight against vicious occupiers and defence of the oppressed people in Lebanon and Palestine. He was not merely an individual, but rather a symbol of a way of life, a school and a cause. Consequently, he continues to inspire the struggle against tyranny and hegemony.

 

The Islamic Republic of Iran will continue its unwavering support for resistance efforts in Palestine and Lebanon against Zionist aggression, stressing the necessity of reinstating the  Palestinian rights and facilitating the attainment of self-determination of Palestine, as a fully recognized country, which is the sole viable path towards enduring peace, stability and security. The Zionists' inhumane moves and escalation of brutality by assassinating the leaders of the resistance will only foster determination of the Iranian nation and government to support the oppressed people.

 

The Embassy of Islamic Republic of Iran in Belgrade, while strongly condemning the Zionist regime’s war crimes, in particular the assassination of Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah and his companions, and the breach of Lebanon’s territorial integrity, stresses that the US government is directly responsible and complicit in the Zionist regime’s crime as a supporter and accomplice in continuing to commit various international crimes and terrorist acts. Israel is acting with impunity. Indifference is not an option. The international community must rise to its responsibility.
