The Statement of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Belgrade on Iran’s missile attack against the Zionist regime of Israel as legitimate self-defense

The Islamic Republic of Iran’s rational and legitimate response to the terrorist acts of the Zionist regime has been duly carried out last evening, 1 October 2024.

Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) launched a volley of hypersonic ballistic missiles at Israeli military targets in the occupied Palestinian territories in retaliation for the terrorist crimes of the Zionist regime, which involved targeting Iranian nationals and interests and infringing upon the national sovereignty of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

 

Iran only exercised self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter, targeting solely military and security sites in Israel. Iran did so after exercising tremendous restraint for almost two months, to give space for a ceasefire in Gaza. Iran’s action is concluded unless Israeli regime decides to invite further retaliation. In that scenario, Islamic Republic of Iran’s response will be stronger and more powerful. Israel's enablers now have a heightened responsibility to rein in the warmongers in Tel Aviv.

 

The Islamic Republic of Iran will always adhere to the stability and security of the region and will act harshly against the aggressors. The Zionist regime and its supporters should know that the Islamic Republic of Iran acts decisively on what it says. No adventurous and unmeasured action against Iran’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and national security will go unanswered.
