on condemnation of the murder of the martyr Colonel Sayyad Khodaei
Unfortunately, in the blind act of terrorism, which took place on 22 may 2022, Colonel Sayyad Khodaei was murdered as a member of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran and he was also an active and prominent figure in fight against terrorism and ISIS.
According to available evidences, this terrorist act has been masterminded and executed as continuation of systematic and a network of assassinations committed against innocent citizens and Iranian scientists, as one of the main instruments to realize the illegitimate intentions in foreign policy of certain regimes. Perpetrating of such acts is contrary to the UN Charter, it is against the principles of international law and fundamental human rights, and, certainly, it represents a serious threat to the regional and international peace and stability, the consequences of which will be felt by those who support terrorists. The continuation of this type of state terrorism has openly challenged the rule of law and has caused a growing concern in the international community. Hence, the silence before such a provocative act will encourage the perpetrators and those who ordered the assassination to continue their wrongdoings and shameful acts that are contrary to international law.
Over the past four decades, the Islamic Republic of Iran, a victim of terrorism itself, has been at the forefront of a practical and serious fight against terrorism in the region. Not only that these terrorist acts will not undermine the policy and determination of the Islamic Republic of Iran, which has always been at the forefront of this fight in the region, but it will also strengthen our resolve to continue that fight.
The international community should be seriously concerned over the dangerous consequences of these terrorist acts against the international peace and security, and as measure to counter it, to condemn most strongly such brutal murders of the citizens of other countries by the state terrorism, that were recognized by certain regimes.
The Islamic Republic of Iran, by undertaking all necessary measures to protect its people and interests, will use all available instruments to bring to justice the perpetrators of this terrorist crime and their supporters.
